Lindos holidays

Lindos is the perfect place to taste and savour all the delicious offerings of traditional Greek cuisine. Salads, succulent olives, tasty pitta and meat souvlaki and zingy tzatziki. In quaint and welcoming restaurants you’ll find ranges of meze dishes incorporating fried courgette and aubergine, feta parcels and chickpea delights. Stewed or baked goat are also popular. Unsurprisingly, as with other Greek islands, Lindos offers excellent seafood. International dishes are also easy to find.

Lindos beach is a wonderful arc of golden sand and turquoise sea at the foot of the village. It’s a great beach for families and couples with a very gentle slope into the water. Sunbeds are plentiful and the soft sand makes a fine alternative for lounging. Pull on a snorkel to spot small crabs and other marine life. Watersports centres allow for boat rental, paddle boarding and parasailing. There is one main large bay and another smaller one on the far side of the peninsula.

Lindos is one of the most photographed places within the Greek islands and labelled by many as the most beautiful. It offers a labyrinth of streets, plenty of opportunity for relaxation, adventure and culture.

Lindos Acropolis: The ruins of Lindos Acropolis sit on the headland atop this picturesque village and climbing up to them is a worthy draw for visitors. The views and photo opportunities from the acropolis are worth every step. Sheer drops mean it is necessary to take care, especially when travelling with children. Some visitors opt to take a donkey ride to the top.

Boat trip: Lindos is stunning from all angles and getting out on the water to look back at it is an experience not to be missed. There are many options to choose from – fishing trips, lazy cruises with swimming options or speed boat adrenaline options. You could even opt to take a trip to stunning and ancient Rhodes Town or one of the island’s other resorts.

St Paul’s Bay: St Paul’s Bay on the southeast coast of Lindos is an unusual and exceptionally pretty spot. From above, the turquoise water almost appears to be a lake, so narrow is the little entrance to the sea which allows boats to meander into its sheltered calm. It means the enclosed waters are often enticingly warm. The beautiful rocky surrounds provide habitats for little sea creatures to make for interesting snorkelling.
