As you’d expect with any part of Spain, the food in Costa Teguise is flavoursome and comes in plentiful amounts. Consisting of an array of dishes served in bite-sized portions, tapas is the best way to sample Spanish cuisine. Expect to tuck into olives, battered squid, croquettes and an array of other delicious dishes when ordering tapas. As well as tapas, you should indulge in seafood, which is a speciality in the Canary Islands. Parrotfish, sardines and sea bream are particularly favoured options, often served with potatoes or on their own with a dipping sauce.

As with any Canary Island, you can expect to stumble across some of the best beaches in Spain. Family-friendly and perfect for water sports, the beaches of Costa Teguise have something to offer everyone. By far the most popular – and biggest – beach in Costa Teguise is Playa de las Cucharas and it’s not hard to see why. Surfers, in particular, are attracted to this beautiful beach due to its board-ready waves. The water is of such high quality in terms of safety and cleanliness that it is recognised with a blue flag. Smaller in size but equally as beautiful, Playa del Jablillo is a much quieter beach. The water is so clear that you’ll spot fish swimming up to you. This makes it a hotspot for snorkelling, should you be able to drag yourself from sunbathing on the soft sand.

Lanzarote Aquarium: Get to grips with the residents of the sea with a visit to Lanzarote Aquarium. With over one million litres of water used in the tanks, this aquarium is one of the largest on the Canary Islands. Admire the hundreds of marine species within including majestic turtles, several sharks and vibrant clownfish. As well as their regular tank, there are three interactive ‘touch tanks’ where you can get an up close and personal look at species such as sea urchins.

Aquapark Costa Teguise: Whether you’re travelling as a family or heading away with friends, a trip to Lanzarote’s only water park is a must. There’s a wide selection of thrilling rides and slides suitable for all ages, including a child-friendly lagoon section. If you’re not looking for an adrenaline rush, you can relax in the jacuzzi or sunbathe by the pools.

Pueblo Marinero: Enjoy the hustle and bustle of Costa Teguise’s town centre, Pueblo Marinero. A hub for food, shopping and entertainment, this square has a lively atmosphere like no other. You’re sure to fall in love with the charming town square, whether that be by sampling the local delicacies or enjoying a spot of shopping. There’s an array of markets held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, selling everything from fresh produce to a selection of accessories.
