Palm tree lined seafronts, white sandy beaches and fascinating ancient ruins to explore, Larnaca is practically paradise. Located on the warm south coast of Cyprus, Larnaca is the third largest resort on the island. You can, therefore, expect to spend your days relaxing and exploring as you please – you certainly won’t run out of things to do.
Food & drink in Larnaca
Influenced by Greek and Turkish dishes, Cypriot food is mouthwateringly flavoursome. Served in plentiful amounts, make sure you sample some souvlakia. Similar to a kebab, souvlakia is a pitta bread filled with char-grilled meat and salad fillings. Vegetarians can rejoice, as there is also meat-free souvlakia filled with mushrooms and halloumi, which is another Cypriot speciality. If you’ve never had halloumi before, you must indulge in the squeaky, salty cheese while on your holiday. It’s one of Cyprus’ signature dishes, typically baked or fried and served as part of a meze platter.
