One of the many perks of dining in Fethiye is the variety. All taste buds are catered for with jazz-filled steakhouses, affordable Mediterranean spots, intimate shisha bars and authentic eateries – no two nights will be the same. Jade Terrace is highly recommended for its flatbreads stuffed with meat and cheese, while La Casa Di Mamma features gourmet hot dogs on its menu and hand stretched pizzas. Unique is one of the most sought-after restaurants in the resort, serving delectable Turkish and International options on its rooftop terrace. Cocktail bars are aplenty, with the Lazy Turtle and Oh Yes Cocktail Garden Bar taking top place on Tripadvisor. Raki is the island’s national spirit, find it served in almost every bar and club – but for fruity teas and mocktails we’d recommend Beer N Bites.

Now a national park, Olu Deniz is one of the best beaches in Turkey and it’s right on your doorstep. It’s said to be one of the most beautiful places on earth for its famous Blue Lagoon where the ripples are turquoise-tinted serving up prime snorkelling conditions. As for the sand, the grains here are white and resemble the Caribbean. Over at the Beach, there are four kilometres of sunbaked coastline to lounge around on. It’s considered the most eco-friendly sand spot near Fethiye, and its mountainous landscape is worth the visit alone.

Alongside its never-ending strip of bars, restaurants and shops – Fethiye offers holidaymakers the chance to revel in its history. With a thriving Old Town, collection of tombs and a Roman theatre dating back to the 2nd Century BC – get lost in its captivating past.

Explore Lycian Sites: The Lycian Sites decorate Fethiye’s landscape with 200 BC remains, cliff carvings and tombs. Hiking is required to reach these archaeological wonders, but the view from the top is enough to keep you going. Waiting at the highest peak is the Tomb of Amyntas, one of the island’s most recognisable sites. Here you’ll wander among sculptures and wall engravings, while taking in the jaw-dropping panoramas. Further down you’ll find a group of smaller crypts buried into the hillside, although you can’t explore the inside of these relics, the exterior is enough to enchant those who visit.

Butterfly Valley: In 1995 this natural marvel was declared a nature reserve, meaning the area is closed off from construction to avoid ruining its beauty. Only reached by boat, this secluded hideaway is the entrance to some of Turkey’s best hiking trails, leading you towards cascading waterfalls and eventually to its private beach. Swim a bay of emerald waters, roam the herbs and flowers and search for the legendary tiger butterfly whom the valley was named after.
