From R&B dance spots to foam parties and strobe-lit clubs playing electric house music – early morning dancing is standard here. Corfu’s lengthy stretch of golden coast is the ultimate hangover cure and Kavos is home to some of the island’s best Blue Flag numbers. Placed on the southern side, prepare to be mesmerised by Ionian sapphire waters and olive groves. Or, head over to the enchanting Corfu Town to immerse yourself in 14th century culture and visit the birthplace of Prince Philip.

A guide to Kavos holidays

Food & drink in Kavos

For authentic Greek cheap eats, you’ve come to the right place. Famed for its meat-stuffed gyros, which is traditionally pork, chips, tzatziki and salad wrapped in pitta bread, it’s the local answer to an English kebab. Find takeaway stands dishing out these delicious shawarma-style wraps throughout the resort for roughly 3€. Menus are brimming with grilled meats and seafood delights, and the Rose Tree is no exception. This eatery is one of the area’s best with its olive oil-soaked bread, herb garlic potatoes and deep fried calamari. Big Max Diner has raving reviews for top-quality and big portion sizes, not to mention customers adore the pitta bread and hummus starter, alongside succulent T bone steak. What better way to cool down from the scorching Greek sun than with a visit to the Ice Bar, expect frozen Daiquiris and frosty Mojitos sitting proudly on the menu. Catch up with football, Formula 1 and major boxing events at Scorers’ Sports Bar with a pint of Mythos in hand. Or, enjoy rich wines made up of Assyrtiko and Vidiano grapes in Buzz Bar.
