Take your pick from steakhouses, seafood eateries, Greek tavernas and Mediterranean restaurants – the beachfront is lined with them. There’s fine dining establishments, casual spots with child-friendly menus, as well as affordable takeaway stands – ideal for a light lunch. Mare Azzurro Cafe is highly rated for its jaw-dropping views and Italian dishes, while venues such as Oinos kai Geuseis is as Greek as it gets. Sample delicacies including octopus in vinegar and moussaka, an eggplant, potato based dish that resembles a lasagna. Passoa Cocktail Bar is the place to be for late night drinks and a shot of Raki, while Tempo Bar provides after dark entertainment and a glass of the finest wine in Greece, Retsina. Of course, classics such as a Mojito and Margarita are still available throughout the resort.

Beautiful beaches in Ipsos

Combining sand and shingle, the beach in Ipsos has adrenaline-junkies covered. Dive deep among the fishes, snorkel nearby caves, paraglide high above the ocean or ride the wild waves via a banana boat. Families will appreciate the pedalos, nearby restaurants and bars, alongside the sunbeds and umbrellas – perfect for lazy days spent sunbathing. Head further afield for Dassia Beach, where the water is renowned for its transparency and caribbean-like resemblance. Nissaki is another outstanding coastal spot, with its emerald ripples , interesting rock formations and small port. Red Bull Aqua Arena is less than a mile away, and is an inflatable assault course made up of numerous activities based in the ocean. Test your skills as you jump, dive and lunge from one blow-up obstacle to another.

Things to do in Ipsos

Who needs to walk around Greek ruins when you can vespa? Hire your own motorised bike and embrace Corfu’s most famous landmarks. Boat rentals are also a top activity in Corfu, allowing holidaymakers to sail the Paxos and Antipaxos islands. There’s go-karting for the kids and a beach club accessorised with hammocks for the adults.

Horse riding: Ideal for families and couples, this gentle horse trek through the olive trees and along the beach is a magical experience. Catch the sunset as you head on a two-hour exploration towards quaint villages and the countryside. Even inexperienced riders can join in, and with an expert trainer on hand you’ll be able to walk and trott with your horse by the end of your trip. After your adventure, feed and groom the horses and take photos with your four-legged friend. There’s also cold refreshments on hand to wrap up your day.

Albania day trip: Just a short 30 minute boat trip away, spend the day in Saranda where iconic sights such as the seawater lagoon Lake Butrint and the Monastery of 40 Saints await. Many excursions will include lunch and tour guides, but feel free to discover this horseshoe bay on your own clock. The panoramic views from Lekuresi Castle will have you captivated, while the Blue Eye and its enticing sapphire waters invite you to take a dip.
