Bilbao holidays

Bilbao, capital of the Basque Country, is one of the most vital cities in Northern Spain. The city suffered a radical transformation two decades ago, leaving its’ industrial past to become a cultural world reference, being one of the few cities hosting a Guggenheim Museum. However, there is much more than the Guggenheim Museum. The Plaza Nueva, built in 1851, and the Old Quarter, with its’ peculiar narrow streets full of restaurants and taverns, are the perfect spots to enjoy some of its’ famous “pintxos”. Another attraction is the Funicular Artxanda, a cable railway which has been transporting residents and visitors for over 100 years since it opened in 1915. You cannot miss the Ribera Market, with its’over 10,000 square meters, which makes it the biggest indoor market in Europe.
